Psychiatry

We offer full psychiatric services and medication management for children, adolescents and adults.

Our providers are all board certified and many have  additional certifications and training in areas including Perinatal and Postpartum Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders, and Obesity Medicine.  Care is provided  using evidence based and up to date treatment modalities. You will enter a collaborative, safe and non-judgmental treatment environment, where  everyone's personal choices and values are respected.

Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy is provided for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma and for variety emotional and behavioral struggles by masters level licensed mental health counselors.

Our providers use variety of evidence based and up to date treatment modalities. You will enter a collaborative, safe and non-judgmental treatment environment.

Khalid Ahmed, M.D.

Dr. Ahmed is our Medical Director. He has extensive clinical experience in treating a diverse patient population with a wide range of psychiatric disorders in different settings. He is especially interested in Eating Disorders (including Anorexia, Bulimia, & Binge Eating Disorder), Neurodevelopmental Disorders (including  ADHD, & Autism), Bipolar Disorder and Anxiety Disorders, including OCD & panic disorders. Dr. Ahmed is board certified in child, adolescent and general psychiatry. He completed his Residency in child & adolescent psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his Residency in General Adult Psychiatry at Drexel University College of Medicine.  

Amy Zachara, ARNP

Amy Zachara, ARNP is board certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She has a subspecialty in addiction treatment. Amy completed her nurse practitioner training at Seattle University. She is especially interested treating depression, anxiety, PTSD and bipolar disorder in adults. She enjoys working with parents of young children or those planning to have families. She has prescriptive authority and follows evidence-based practice. Amy offers psychiatric evaluation and medication management. In addition, she believes in a wholistic treatment approach and is interested in a focus on lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, healthy relationships, coping skills and brief therapy.

Gemy George, DNP, ARNP

Gemy George is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Washington. She has been in practice for almost 10 years. She has a deep understanding of the complex interplay between mental and physical health and is committed to providing holistic care to her patients. Gemy’s clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. She has a special interest and extensive experience of working with young adults. She is skilled in conducting psychiatric evaluations, developing comprehensive treatment plans, and providing psychotherapy and medication management to patients. She is also committed to providing patient-centered care and works closely with her patients to develop treatment plans that meet their unique needs and goals.

Lucy Potyomkin, ARNP

Lucy Potyomkin is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner offering comprehensive psychiatric assessments, medication management and brief therapy for individuals of all ages. Originally from Minsk, Belarus, Lucy is fluent in both Russian and English. A recent graduate with a Master’s in Nursing, Lucy has been in the field of mental health nursing since 2019, and has experience working with a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD. Strongly believing that mental health is a state of optimal wellness as opposed to only a lack of illness, Lucy is a strong supporter of evidence-based, holistic mental health. With this in mind, Lucy believes that improving mental health should encompass creating wellness in an individual’s entire being; this concept further incorporates social, physical, behavioral, psychological and environmental aspects of that individual. In providing patient-centered care, Lucy is committed to closely working with and supporting each individual in meeting their unique objectives aimed at achieving and sustaining optimal mental health. 

Elina Durchman, M.D.

Dr. Durchman is board certified in General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as in Obesity Medicine with several years of experience of treating children, adolescents and adults. She has a special interest in eating disorders, weight management and obesity medicine. Dr.  Durchman practices patient focused, evidence-based treatment including medication management. She is an avid patient advocate and has served as president of the Washington State Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree and completed her residency programs as well as Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders fellowship through University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Durchman has held several leadership positions in public as well as private sectors.

Pamela Saha, M.D.

Dr. Saha received her medical degree from Louisiana State Medical Center in Shreveport and completed her training in Psychiatry at the Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center in South Central Los Angeles, California. She has been Board Certified in General Psychiatry for 28 years and Psychosomatic Medicine for 18 years by the American Board of Medical Specialties. She believes strongly that a patient’s overall psychiatric health is impacted by social, environmental, biological, and psychological factors. She has worked in various settings throughout her career, including inpatient and outpatient Psychiatry, emergency rooms, shelters for the homeless, homes for the disabled, nursing facilities, and residences for the mentally ill. For eleven years, she worked at SUNY Downstate Medical Center as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, teaching medical students and residents. In addition, she was an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Washington. She now welcomes the opportunity to work through Pan Pacific Health, which enjoys a team of providers devoted to excellent care, sharing educational resources, and providing support.

Sara Maurer, ARNP

Sara Maurer, ARNP, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She worked as a registered nurse for over twenty years caring for patients in hospital, residential and outpatient settings before pursuing her career in mental health. Having spent the last six years treating patients with eating disorders, Sara also has experience with many psychiatric disorders including anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, and PTSD.  She believes that mental health and physical health are interconnected. Her goal is to understand a person’s unique perspective, actively listen to their needs, and form a partnership with them to promote their overall wellbeing.   She strives to create a nonjudgmental space where patients feel comfortable and safe.  Sara utilizes evidence-based guidelines in diagnosis and treatment planning and provides medication management and brief therapy.

Kathleen Kenny, ARNP

Kathleen Kenny is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner offering medication management and supportive therapy for individuals 18+.
She received her master’s degree from New York University and practiced as Certified Nurse Midwife for 20 years working in community health, and then in the department of maternal fetal medicine at the University of Washington and Swedish First Hill in Seattle.
Kathleen has advanced training in perinatal and postpartum mood disorders and is a certified prescriber by Postpartum Support International. In addition, Kathleen is experienced in managing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, and PTSD; she strives to help improve the quality of life for every individual seeking care and support.
She looks forward to partnering with you in health and supporting you on the journey towards hope and healing.
In her free time, Kathleen enjoys reading, walking in nature, and spending time with her kids.

Jessie Enell, ARNP

Jessie is passionate about improving access to mental health treatment and providing compassionate, patient-centered care. She is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with 15 years experience in the mental health field. She was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and completed her Masters in Nursing at Seattle University. She has an educational background in addiction, worked for many years in a community mental health setting, and recently provided psychiatric care at a women’s health clinic. Jessie provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults. She primarily treats anxiety and mood disorders. In addition to prescribing she provides psychoeducation and brief supportive therapy, addressing lifestyle factors that can impact mental health including nutrition, exercise, coping strategies, and relaxation techniques. She especially enjoys discussing cognitive behavioral therapy techniques for insomnia. She lives in Seattle with her partner and two young children. 
 

Colleen Cary Verhey, B.S.

Colleen is the Clinic Manager at Body Mind Intuition. She  was born and raised in Washington State. Her educational background is in art and biology, but her passion for helping people led her to the medical field, where she enjoys providing organizational support to programs devoted to making a positive impact on people’s lives. Colleen enjoys gardening and any activity that gets her out in the beautiful landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
